I have been practicing karate for many years, and along the way I have trained under different styles, different schools and different senseis.

I am glad that I joined Keiseikan Dojo. Joining Inoue-ha Shitoryu karate is eye-opening experience for me, techniques from what I have learned can be done in a more efficient way.

Sensei Teng always willing to teach and share his personal experience whenever I am in doubt. Besides, the dojo environment is welcoming and comfortable. Not to mention, I am very fortunate to join Kenshin-ryu Kobudo class where I can practice the weapon systems of Okinawan martial art under sensei Teng, a certified Kobudo sensei.

I would highly recommend this dojo to anyone thinking of learning martial art and looking for something more practical and functional.

Being a part of Keiseikan Dojo is truly a wonderful experience! It is an eye opener to learn about the essence of Inoue-ha Shito-ryu Karate where I acquire new techniques from this system in strengthening my impact from what I have been practicing in the past.

What excites me more is the opportunity to join Kobudo (weapon) training whereby the dojo instructor, Sensei Teng, is the only approved certified kobudo instructor in Singapore. It helps to complement my Karate training for better Karate performance.

Sensei Teng is more than willing to share his experience and knowledge. He always explain in detail on the fundamentals and applications, accompanied with personal demonstration to ensure we fully grasp and master the techniques. Basics (kihon) is always being emphasized to help us build a stronger foundation. We always strive to continuously improve ourselves. Sensei and senpais are very approachable for us to ask for more guidance. Overall, it is a healthy and positive environment! Looking forward to more exciting things to come!

I started learning Kobudo and Inoue-ha Karate from Sensei Teng since when I was just 4 months before my 61st birthday. Despite my rather late entry, Sensei patiently guided me, turning me from a pure kobudo/karate beginner into a firm believer of the arts.

What impressed me was the sincerity and well-measured efforts by Sensei Teng to ensure that students learn the principles within individual capabilities. I can still remember his advice that we should put proper focus to LEARN the art, so that we can eventually "remove the letter L" and gainfully EARN the resulting benefits. This is a useful advice that can be applied to many other aspects in life as well. I welcome all to join us in this learning journey. Let us all earn our wellbeing together.

I was introduced to Inoue-ha Karate in 2021 February and followed by Kobudo in a few months later. It is my pleasure to learn Karate and Kobudo under the guidance of Sensei Teng as Sensei has great passion and patience to share his in-depth knowledge in karate and Kobudo as well as continuously provide guidance to all students for improvement.

“Understand the course for each action and feel your body” is 1 of the key principles in Inoue-ha Karate which always emphasized by Sensei Teng is beneficial when practicing karate and Kobudo in an efficient way. Quality is more critical than quantity in learning. 1 of the examples is looking at myself transform from a Kobudo newbie who barely can handle a long staff to currently as a competent Kobudo practitioner within 1 year. The fundamentals of karate stance allow me to have better stability in Kobudo while practicing Kobudo allow me to utilize correct muscle group in Karate by learning to relax my upper body.

It is a fulfilling experience to see a lifelong LEARNing journey that eventually become lifelong EARNing journey as shared by Sensei Teng.

Started my karate training with the dojo has been an enriching experience. You will pick up the fundamentals of karate quite easily because the Sensei are detailed during the class.

As a beginner, it is important for us to learn and appreciate practicing kihon, kata and kumite in Karate. There is also a heavy emphasis on doing things well when training in the dojo. Glad to be training here with the crews.

Prior to starting Kobudo and Karate, I have been searching for a sport that I can develop myself holistically. I have tried a few fitness programs, however they seem to lack a proper system. With some online research and luck, I managed to locate Keiseikan dojo, which has a balanced mix of fitness intensity and practical self-defence training. I am grateful to Sensei Teng, whom are very experienced teacher and provides great guidance to new learners. The Sensei patiently guide students through the correct execution of each fundamental technique, which is essential for building a strong foundation for both kata and kumite. The dojo’s environment is fun and supportive, and seniors are very willing to share what they know. Looking forward to each training lesson to advance myself!

I was introduced to Kobudo in April 2022. Being a newbie in martial arts, this was a totally new experience. Kobudo emphasis on using of traditional Okinawan weapons such as the bo Staff, sai and tonfa and others. I was started on the bo staff and it was not easy. One year have passed, and under the watch full eye and patience instructions of Sensei Teng, i was able to improve my techniques and strengths, and i am always looking forward to my next training session and perhaps my next Kobudo weapon.

At this dojo, you can learn advanced karate & Kobudo (Weapon) techniques that are not easily accessible. The learning atmosphere is good and you will enjoy the company of other like-minded learners.

Having always wanted to study Karate I was very lucky to find Keiseikan. The training is excellent and Sensei Teng and other seniors are always willing to share their knowledge and advice.
The classes are varied and interesting and also help keep my waistline in check!

Having practised different forms of martial arts I am very appreciative of the methods by this dojo. Equal emphasis is given to the form, the application and well as fitness improvement. Under Sensei Teng there is never a bored lesson and there is something to take home after every session. The easy to follow instructions makes the lesson suitable for any age group and fitness level.

Highly recommended starting club to train and learn self-defence! Aside from learning Karate-do, people here are very warm and welcoming as well! Not only did I felt that I am learning life-skills, I also enjoy coming regularly to sweat it out and exercise together with my friends! :). Do check this place out!

I started learning Kobudo a little later on at the age of 29 with no prior experience. While initially apprehensive due to my lack of background, I'm happy to say my fears were unfounded as Sensei Teng's instructions were given in a clear and detailed fashion, tailored to the speed of my own progression. Emphasis is given to mastering the fundamentals, building muscle memory while eliminating bad habits that occur at the start. This allows for greater exploration and creativity when sparring, as the practitioner can then focus on situational application of the basic forms. I find both Kata and Kihon practice sessions are therapeutic exercises in mindfulness, as practitioners must actively adjust their form while training in order to achieve efficient movement and execution. For the more technically minded, Sensei Teng also provides in-depth explanations and context behind the form, along with very effective demonstrations. This is built on even further during Bunkai, when you start to interpret the meaning behind different movements within a Kata, what it's effective for, and when to use it. I find the art to be similar to a deep lake, where the simple surface belies the depths below. You get what you put into it, and in my opinion, there's no better place to learn, and now's the best time to start!
